Project Title: Comprehensive Soil Testing and Land Assessment – Cross River & Delta States (2023–2024)
Clients: Multiple Oil Palm and Crop Farmers
Locations: Cross River State & Delta State, Nigeria
Years: 2023–2024
Service Rendered: Soil Sampling, Laboratory Analysis, and Land Suitability Recommendations
Project Description:
Between 2023 and 2024, Dessy Agro carried out a series of comprehensive soil testing and land assessment projects for both new and existing farmers in Cross River and Delta States. These services were designed to help clients make informed decisions before planting by understanding the true condition of their soil.
Our field team collected multiple soil samples from different parts of each farm, ensuring representation across varying terrains. We partnered with certified agricultural laboratories to conduct detailed analysis, including pH levels, macronutrient profiles (NPK), micronutrient levels, organic matter content, and soil texture classification.
Based on the results, we developed customized soil fertility improvement plans for each farm. These included recommendations for lime application, organic compost, inorganic fertilizers, and cover cropping strategies, along with optimized planting guides to match each soil type and crop choice.
Outcome:
Farmers were able to avoid costly mistakes, improve soil health, and achieve better crop performance by planting in land that was properly assessed and prepared. This project highlights our commitment to science-driven agriculture and sustainable land use planning.
